Wesley Homes Receives 4 LeadingAge Washington Awards

Wesley Homes Retirement Communities and Home Health Services received four awards at LeadingAge™ Washington’s 2016 Conference. The awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in the fields of aging, healthcare, housing and community-based services. Awards were presented at the LeadingAge Washington 65th Annual Conference “Be the Difference” in Spokane at the Davenport Hotel. LeadingAge Washington is a state trade association serving not-for-profit and mission-driven organizations dedicated to providing quality housing and skilled long term services.

Director of Activities and Volunteer Services Naniofa Poulivaati-Mounga received the Excellence in the Workplace Award, which acknowledged the vision and creativity that made her a leader in care and services for the elderly in 2015. Her virtual travel program, United Nations of the Health Center, took Wesley Homes Des Moines Health Center residents around the world, and her International Bite of Wesley Homes showcased the variety of cultures and cuisines of the staff.

“I didn’t know that creating this travel program would be so exciting or that it would go over as well as it has,” said Poulivaati-Mounga, “but it’s a blessing to be able to share ourselves with the residents and to be able to empower them and our staff to participate.”
