Early last July, Wesley Homes Lea Hill Rehabilitation and Care Center opened its doors for business and is eager to serve the community. Meet the people involved.
Welcome our nursing staff to Wesley Homes! Pictured above are the first nurses and nursing assistants who have joined the Wesley Homes Lea Hill Rehabilitation and Care Center team. These folks participated in a week-long orientation lead by Director of Clinical Services Tammie Bennett, RN; Resident Care Manager Lisa Wilson, RN; and other Wesley Homes Lea Hill management. The orientation involved days of training on equipment, policies, procedures, nursing programs, key points and other important components of maintaining a successful care center.
“I’m excited to be working in a new facility with amazing people filling the halls. All of them bring something different to the table and do their best to make residents feel at home,” said Certified Nursing Assistant Shakina “Tutu” Baker.
One of the first residents to stay at the new care center is Elmer Wheeler. Elmer has resided at Wesley Homes Lea Hill with his wife June for the past two years and has recently moved into one of the long-term care suites.
“I’m grateful that my wife is close by and can visit me often. I’ve been treated exceptionally well since I’ve moved in, and my needs are certainly being met,” said Elmer.
The Lea Hill Rehabilitation and Care Center is designed not only to offer a dignified, comfortable place of healing, but to also allow for care center residents to remain part of their community. June and their friends from Eby Lodge, the heart of the campus, need only take a short stroll through the connecting skybridge to visit the care center.
“The fact that I don’t have to get in my car and drive to another community to spend time with my husband is wonderful; this I am very grateful for,” said June.
As a provider of choice, Wesley Homes offers a network of services with a full continuum of care that allows older adults to continue to enjoy their independence and remain active in their community.
Certified nursing assistants Karina Yefremova and Clara Drinkwine (pictured) both started their journey with Wesley Homes on June 27th and are now part of a caring and mission- driven team.
“I am excited to be able to meet Wesley Homes residents and learn and experience new things together. It’s great to be part of a team that cares so strongly for their residents. What I look forward to the most is helping to develop the care center to its full potential,” said Karina.
Both Clara and Karina have joined Wesley Homes with the energy and attitude necessary to succeed in the healthcare industry. Wesley Homes Lea Hill Rehabilitation and Care Center is very blessed to have such an outstanding team of qualified staff to care for all of the present and future residents of the care center.
Each and every resident at the new care center is supported by an interdisciplinary team of professionals, consisting of the Nursing, Culinary, Life Enrichment, Social Services, Therapy and Chaplain services. It’s this diversity that promotes Wesley Homes’ mission of providing a network of services for older adults to meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of those we serve. Whether a resident needs long term care or transitional care, our interdisciplinary team will assist them in reaching their highest level of health and wellness by providing them with the most complete care possible.
