Thanks to the incredible kindness and generosity of our residents, staff and community, our donors collectively raised a total of $72,945 for Wesley Homes!
Wesley Homes has participated in GiveBIG since its inception six years ago, and we’re pleased to announce this year as being the most successful campaign to date! Your gifts topped 2015 by $25,690; that’s an astounding 54 percent increase! In the coming weeks, Seattle Foundation will calculate the percentage of stretch dollars each not-for-profit will receive, so watch for updates once our portion is determined.
GiveBIG was a tremendous success thanks to our supportive and caring donors. Wesley Homes Foundation has a variety of initiatives, including the Greatest Need Fund. This fund has been used to purchase specialized, high-tech medical equipment and supports Brain Fit, Music & Memory and other programs that help ease degenerative health challenges like Alzheimer’s disease.
Another initiative is Circle of Concern, which makes it possible for people to stay in their homes when they have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own. This initiative provides comfort and hope to residents and their families and allows them to continue living at Wesley Homes.
The Employee Assistance Fund provides emergency financial assistance to employees who may be experiencing difficulty in meeting their obligations due to natural disasters, emergency medical services not covered by insurance or death in the family. This fund also provides grants to employees who wish to go above and beyond by furthering their education or acquiring additional skills and training.
Thanks to your contributions during GiveBIG, programs like these will be able to continue making a difference in people’s lives. It’s not easy for people to ask for money or for help when they need it, nor is it always easy to give, but Wesley Homes is honored to have such an extraordinary community of compassionate individuals.
