Wesley Homes is hosting a unique Easter egg hunt this year.

Visually impaired children and their families will fill their Easter baskets with “beeping” Easter eggs during this special Easter egg hunt. The unique eggs are engineered with electronic circuit boards, batteries and telephone speakers to emit distinctive beeping sounds. As a result, visually impaired children can use their hearing to find the eggs and share in the joy and sense of accomplishment of a successful Easter egg hunt. This event also features puppies in training to become seeing eye dogs as part of their socialization training.

“We do other Easter egg hunts and we help him,” Demarie McCurdy said of her son. “But, this is one he can do on his own and find the eggs himself, and it’s really rewarding for him.”
