Environmental Services Appreciation Month

This month is Environmental Services Appreciation Month, which means it is time to recognize some of the important people who work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

This month, Wesley Homes honors Frank Harding from the Health Center in Des Moines and Russ Mairs from the Lea Hill campus in Auburn. Wesley Homes has an outstanding Environmental Services team, and these two men are a shining example of the great staff and outstanding teamwork at Wesley Homes.

Frank Harding is the Health Center Maintenance Supervisor on the Des Moines campus, and he has been working at Wesley Homes for nearly 25 years! Frank started at Wesley Homes when several people from his previous employer told him, “Wesley Homes is the place to be, you have to go there!” Frank and coworker, Jorge Covarrubias, were recently recognized for their hard work and outstanding teamwork to get to a zero deficiency rating on the Health Center’s life safety inspection.

“Teamwork is essential for Environmental Services, and I’m lucky to work with such an amazing team!” said Frank.

Maintenance Technician Russ Mairs has worked for Wesley Homes Lea Hill since 2013. Russ works with a small team, but building relationships with the rest of the staff at Wesley Homes is one of the most important parts of his job.

“I know it sounds cheesy, but I love my job,” said Russ. “I love working here. My coworkers are my friends, and you can’t say that about many other places.”

Russ went on to say how he appreciates the high level of comradery at Wesley Homes. Russ said, “It doesn’t matter what level or job title you have; everyone is treated with respect.”

Thanks to Russ, Frank and everyone in the Environmental Services department for serving our communities and being an essential part of the Wesley Homes team!
