Meet Christie Webb, the new care coordinator for Wesley Homes Home Health. Christie has been in the health care field for seven years and looks forward to providing clients with the right level of care to meet their needs. In this position, Christie is the first point of contact for clients who require services in the privacy of their homes. She schedules assessments and determines appropriate staffing to fit the needs of clients. “The most important thing I do is listen,” said Christie, who receives and responds to incoming requests for a variety of supportive services to help client’s stay active and independent. “That’s the best way for me to meet people’s needs, to offer them choices. Home Health has a variety of services, and I’m here to make access to any of our services easy and uncomplicated.” Recognizing and meeting people’s needs became part of Christie’s nature back when she was a candy striper. “Looking back, there were many moments that stuck with me during those volunteer days at the hospital,” said Christie. “Those moments taught me that being there for someone — no matter their ‘struggle’ — is what is important. Providing as much dignity as possible is paramount. I try to offer help in any capacity that I can.” Christie was later recognized as the volunteer of the year by the hospital for her work as a candy striper. She’s carried that spirit of helping others throughout her life, including in the Navy on an aircraft carrier and as a command ombudsman; through Big Brothers Big Sisters, life coaching groups, her church, cancer research funding and veterans activities; and at Wesley Homes through Team Wesley, our social accountability group. As care coordinator, Christie also works with Wesley Homes Health Center. When patients have been discharged, they may still need skilled nursing or personal care services, such as foot care, meal preparations and even companionship. Christie helps complete the circle of recovery by conferring with the health center staff to determine the next steps in a client’s care at home. “We want you to get back on your feet so you can stay as self-sufficient as possible,” said Christie. Whether you're recovering at home, requiring ongoing assistance or just needing respite time from caregiving for your spouse or loved one, call Christie to find out how Wesley Homes Home Health can serve you.
