A New Look at Wesley Homes Bradley Park

As Wesley Homes Bradley Park comes closer to groundbreaking this fall, excitement is building for the new community in the age-friendly city of Puyallup.

When completed, Wesley Homes Bradley Park will offer Wesley Homes’ full continuum of care for older adults and feature a contemporary design with an extensive variety of apartment styles for independent living and memory care. Reservations are now being accepted for apartment homes at Bradley Park. When someone reserves a home they become part of the Pioneer Club with exclusive events and benefits for all charter residents.

“I’m very enthusiastic about Bradley Park,” said Carrie Boulet, Bradley Park Pioneer, donor and ambassador for the future campus. Carrie was on the exploratory committee for Bradley Park where she helped determine the need for a new retirement community in Puyallup. Carrie has recruited other depositors and donors and has helped raise funding for Bradley Park alongside Wesley Homes Foundation’s Major Gifts Officer Jamie Gregory.

“I believe wholeheartedly in Wesley Homes Bradley Park,” said Carrie. “There is a real need for the kind of community Wesley builds in Pierce County.” She appreciates Wesley Homes being faith-based and not-for-profit. “Wesley Homes has the highest integrity and reputation,” she said. It’s for these reasons that she became so involved and committed to Wesley Homes Bradley Park. Carrie has selected the Steilacoom style apartment in the Lodge, which features a centralized floor plan with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sunroom.

The Lodge has an educational theater, library and a lounge with two-story windows and a fireplace on the first floor. Residents will also enjoy an outdoor patio, beauty salon and art studio. In the underground garage level there is parking, storage and a fitness center with an aerobics room. The second floor of the Lodge is home to the dining spaces including a bistro for mid-day meals or snacks, private dining room and club room.

“The location of Bradley Park is perfect,” said Dr. Don Mott, one of the Pioneers and donors for Bradley Park. “Not only will it be close to the hospital, YMCA and shopping center, but I also think of Puyallup as home.”

Don and his wife have selected the Bainbridge style corner apartment in the Brownstones because of the open view. The Bainbridge is a two bedroom, two bath apartment with a large living space open to the kitchen and dining area. It also has a corner sunroom and patio.

The Brownstones provide a more intimate living environment with spacious residences, underground parking, individual patios or decks and it’s own club room and fitness studio.

Pioneer and campaign donor Walt Arthur said the location of Bradley Park was an important factor in his decision as well because he has a lot of friends and family in the Puyallup area. He was quick to point out that Wesley Homes Bradley Park is one of the only communities in the area to offer a continuum of care, which gives him peace of mind knowing that all his needs will be met without having to leave his community.

The continuum of care offered at Wesley Homes campuses was also an important factor for Pioneer Mary Kohli. She’s toured both Wesley Homes Des Moines and Lea Hill in Auburn to get a personal feeling of the communities.

“I never saw people just sitting around,” said Mary. “They were out doing. The atmosphere was very different from anywhere else; everyone was so positive.”

After that, Mary didn’t need to look elsewhere. As for the community of Wesley Homes Bradley Park, she added that it was wonderful getting to know her future neighbors and that the Bradley Park Ambassador Team has been very supportive. Mary said that the spirit of all the people that have been involved with the project has been great and that she’s really looking forward to moving in.
